Top Five Friday | Our Favorite Book Covers

The rule is to never judge a book by its cover, but the publishers of the books in our list didn’t even give us a chance. These are some of our favorite books that thankfully have beautiful stories to match the beautiful covers.

*in no particular order*

1. Mara Dyer series

Untitled design (13)

These covers all work really well together, and we like that they feature people without being cheesy. We love that they correspond with the storyline and Noah and Mara’s relationship.

2. The Hazel Wood

The intricate detailing of this cover is what makes it one of our favorites. The cover hints at parts of the story that become evident after finishing the book.

3. Uprooted

We don’t think the US cover is necessarily bad, but it pales in comparison to the beauty of the Goldsboro UK cover. It’s even better in person with the gold foil shine!

4. Caraval

Maybe we are a bit biased because we are absolutely in love with Caraval, but both the US and UK covers are magical.

5. A Darker Shade of Magic series

Untitled design (11)

The simplistic color scheme works really well for this series. We love how the London maps are on every cover since they play such a large role in the plot.

  1. Love all of these covers! Of course I am a sucker for the Shades of Magic covers… they do fit the books so well. Very dark and edgy.

I am not typically a fan of people on the covers of books, but agree that the covers for the Mara Dyer series are stunning! I haven’t read this particular series yet, but I did buy the first book last year when the kindle version went on sale.
