Top Five Friday | End Pages

Today we’re talking end pages. Some books go above and beyond during the printing process, and we’re narrowing down our top five favorites when it comes to the beginning and end of a hardback!

*These are in no particular order!*

1. Night of Cake and Puppets by Laini Taylor

We love the intricate details on these end pages! The colors, too, make everything stand out nicely!

2. Books by Sarah J. Maas

Sarah is lucky to have multiple editions of her books that feature fan art on the end pages. We love all of these renditions of our favorite characters — but we are partial to Charlie Bowater’s works!

3. The Ravenspire books by C.J. Redwine

We haven’t gotten a chance to read any of these books — sad, I know — but that doesn’t make these end page maps any less beautiful!

4. The Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard

These end pages are what inspired us to pick this week’s topic. We just can’t get over how pretty and detailed these designs are!

5. The Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir

We’re suckers for any end pages or books that feature maps, and this series is no different. The maps for this series are so small but full of detail.

We didn’t like limiting ourselves to just 5 for this week, so here are two more!

6. Editions of V.E. Schwab books

Not only are the covers for Victoria Schwab’s books aesthetically pleasing, the end pages are as well. The collector’s edition of A Darker Shade of Magic features awesome fan art, and the UK edition of Vicious has some of the best end pages I’ve ever seen.

7. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

Again, all we need is a beautifully illustrated map, and we’re good to go. We’re not hard to please.

Okay, now we’re finished…for now!
