Book Tag | 20 Questions Book Tag

Hello, everyone! Today I thought I’d keep it simple with a good old-fashioned Q&A. I first saw this tag on Dee’s Rad Reads and Reviews’ blog, and it looked like fun!

1. How many books is too many books in a book series?

I’m never one to hate on too many books, so I don’t have a problem with long book series. The more the merrier, especially if I really love the world and the characters.

2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

They suck, but I understand why authors use them. It sometimes makes me even more eager for the sequel, so their purpose is always fulfilled on my end.

3. Hardback or paperback?

Hardback! I just prefer the look of them on my shelves.

4. Favorite book?

Currently? Probably Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. All-time favorite? That’s too hard, but I desperately loved The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster as a child.

5. Least favorite book?

Do I have a least favorite book? I’ve read numerous 1 to 2 star books, but I wouldn’t categorize any of them as my least favorite.

6. Love triangles, yes or no?

Yes, if they’re done well. I don’t want them if it’s blatantly obvious who the main character will end up with. I want a good bit of angst and build-up.

7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

Probably Reign of the Fallen, not that it was bad. I did enjoy what I read, I just couldn’t fully invest myself in it at the time.

8. A book you’re currently reading?

Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte!

9. Last book you recommended to someone?

I actually helped a customer at work pick up Strange the Dreamer. I’ll eventually stop talking about this book…no, I won’t.

10. Oldest book you’ve read? (Publication date)

I’d guess The Great Gatsby, that was first published in 1925.

11. Newest book you’ve read? (Publication date)

Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan. I was lucky enough to snag a copy from a Goodreads giveaway, and this one doesn’t come out until Summer 2019.

12. Favorite author?

I’ll list some favorite authors because picking one is too hard: Laini Taylor, V.E. Schwab, Stephanie Garber, Sabaa Tahir, Morgan Matson, Marissa Meyer, Sarah J, Maas, Alexandra Bracken, John Green, Holly Black, and probably 50 others.

13. Buying books or borrowing books?

I rarely borrow books, but I always buy them.

14. A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?

Probably any Kasie West book. I don’t get it, they’re too cheesy for me.

15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?

Bookmarks! Don’t you dare harm a book.

16. A book you can always reread?

Obviously Harry Potter, but less obviously, The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. If I ever need a pick-me-up, I go to that one.

17. Can you read while hearing music?

Not usually, I sometimes put on rain or white noise to drown out any kind of distractions though.

18. One POV or multiple POV’s? (POV’s = Point of views)

I’m fine with either! I’d prefer the multiple POVs to be distinguishable though.

19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

I can and do both! It honestly depends on my mood and what I’m reading. I can take anywhere from 3-4 hours up to a week or more to finish something.

20. A book you’ve read because of the cover?

The Hazel Wood intrigued me from the get-go with its beautiful cover. Thankfully, I enjoyed the contents as well.

I tag anyone who’s feeling like a Q&A!

Until next time,
