Top Five Friday | Favorite Fandoms

Today I thought it’d be fun to talk about fandoms! If you’re not part of one, you’re missing out! A fandom is basically a family you get to choose, and I’m so glad to be a part of some great ones. You can basically make a fandom out of anything, literally anything you’re a fan of can work. Without any further ado, here are some of my favorite fandoms.

1. The Harry Potter Fandom

I honestly don’t know of many people who aren’t in the Harry Potter fandom. If you haven’t read the books, you’ve at least seen the movies. I started reading the series back in fourth grade, and I’ve been in love ever since.

2. The Doctor Who Fandom

I can’t say that I’ve seen every episode of Doctor Who, but the ones I have watched have been great! The show mixes humor, sci-fi, and time travel all into one, and it’s super entertaining! The fandom is fun to be a part of as well, and the show gave us one of the best book-lover quotes ever:

“You want weapons? We’re in a library! Books! The best weapons in the world!”

3. The Game of Thrones Fandom

I’ve religiously watched Game of Thrones for YEARS. I’m a die hard Jon Snow fan — good things better come for him. I can’t wait to see what happens in the final season, as sad as I am to see it go. I have goals to read the series eventually, but they’ve intimated me for so long. We’ll see!

4. The Lord of the Rings Fandom

I remember watching Lord of the Rings anytime I was home sick from school. It’s a go-to comfort movie, and I loved The Hobbit films as well. Sadly, I’ve never read a Tolkien book, and I need to change that ASAP.

5. The Sherlock Fandom

Finally, I get to talk about my love of Benedict Cumberbatch. I should’ve just made #5 all about Benedict, but Sherlock is an amazing show, so I can’t leave it out either. I hate that we get so few episodes, but the wait is definitely worth it in the end. Cumberbatch is an amazing Holmes, and I couldn’t picture anyone else but Martin Freeman to play Watson.
