Top Five Friday | Spooky Movies & TV Shows

Hello, everyone! This Friday I thought it would be fun to talk about my favorite spooky movies and TV shows. I watch a bunch of scary movies because I never truly get scared by them — I started watching them at way too young an age I think. So, let’s get started!

*These are in no particular order!*

1. Hocus Pocus

This one is just a Halloween classic. I don’t think I could go through an October and not watch this movie.

2. The Haunting of Hill House

This one is fairly new, considering Netflix just added it not even two weeks ago, but I instantly fell in love with it. It’s the perfect mix of personal/family drama and horror, and the acting is superb. I binged the whole series in like 3 sittings, and I’ve been telling everyone I know to start it!

3. The Conjuring

This one is a fairly recent horror movie, and it’s one that I didn’t hate. Most of the time, horror movies turn super cheesy, but I liked the creepiness of this one.

4. The Shining

This is a classic horror, and it’s actually more spooky than I remembered. It’s more subtle horror though, so don’t go into it expecting a bunch of jump-scares.

5. Zodiac

A lot of people wouldn’t even consider this one a scary movie, but it’s super unsettling to me. There’s a certain scene that my boyfriend and I still talk about because it made us so uncomfortably creeped out. It’s more crime based than actual scares, but I found the whole story really interesting. Plus, it’s based on real events which makes it more spooky.

And that’s all! I could list more, but these are definitely my favorites.
