Hello, everyone! I know I’ve previously done a post about anticipated 2019 releases, which you can see here, but I wanted to talk more about a few that are coming out fairly soon! If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I LOATHE summer. I hate the heat, I hate the sun, I hate it all. (Minus thunderstorms, those are the only good thing about warm weather.) I’m much more of a fall/winter gal, so the fact that the first day of summer is almost upon us is horrendous to me. In order to feel better, I thought, “Let’s talk about some books I’m excited for!”
Side note: I’m going to consider all books that release before the first day of fall, which is September 23rd. Plus, where I live, it stays fairly hot well into September unfortunately.
1. The Storm Crow by Kalyn Josephson – July 9th
This fantasy comes out in just a couple weeks, so there’s not a super long time to wait! I’m intrigued by a tropical kingdom, hidden crows, and arranged marriages to princes! Hopefully it lives up to the hype, and the cover is super pretty.
2. The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen – July 30th
Another crow? Count me in. This one has mercy-killers, a prince on the run, and a look-a-like bodyguard who wants his own life – I need this story now.
3. Crown of Coral and Pearl by Mara Rutherford – August 27th
Twins, princes, and political intrigue? Yes, please! I’m sensing a theme with all of the books I’m excited for this summer…
4. There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool – September 3rd
I know this one falls into the cliché of rag-tag groups coming together to save the world, but I’m a sucker for that. There’s a prince, a killer, a leader, a gambler, and a dying girl all in this one.
5. The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow – September 10th
The cover to this one is what drew me in first. Then, I learned it’s a historical fantasy with a magical book with hidden worlds – I need this yesterday.
Have you read any of these? What book releases are you looking forward to?
Until next time,
I’m not a big fan of summer myself. I’m a pretty big baby when it comes to heat lol I will say this though, compared to some of the southern states, we don’t have it too bad here in Ohio. I don’t think I could physically survive summers in the south lol
Off this list, I am most excited to read The Ten Thousand Doors of January! Not only is the cover stunning, but magical doors!!!!!
