The Reading Rush

Hello, everyone! I decided to participate in another read-a-thon this month. I know, right? Who am I? I’ve always heard of the Booktube-a-thon over the last couple of years, and they rebranded this year as The Reading Rush. This year, the readathon takes place July 22nd through the 28th!

It’s basically a week of reading as much as you can! You can go with prompts for your reading choices, or just wing it. I think I’m going to try to go with the prompts and read as many books as I can in seven whole days. I also work full time, so we’ll see how that goes.

And the challenges are:

  1. Book to movie adaptation – Self explanatory, right?
  2. Five word title  – Also, self explanatory, but do I own many of those??
  3. Non-human character – This one is a little tougher, but I think I’ve got at least one that could work.
  4. Author’s debut – I’ve got a billion of these to choose from.
  5. Last year book – Again, I have a billion of these to choose from. @ me next time.
  6. Same spot – Read a whole book in the same spot? I do this every single time.
  7. Purple cover – I know I’m bound to have something purple.

For my challenges, I’ve decided to go with these books! I’ve been meaning to get to all of them at some point, so this is the perfect chance for that. I’ve also decided to combine some challenges to help myself actually complete the week. Challenge #6. basically applies to all of these because I read all of my books in my big comfy reading chair.

1. & 3. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Prachett

2. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

4. & 5. Everless by Sara Holland

7. Skyward by Brandon Sanderson

I think the book choices I’ve made are pretty good, considering I’ve never read a Gaiman or Sanderson book, and I’ve had Everless and The Wrath and the Dawn on my shelves for MONTHS without being touched. Good luck to all those participating!

Until next time,

Katie-2
