Hello, everyone! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a Top Five Friday, so I thought it’d be fun to bring it back. This week, I want to talk about book series. I’ve been saying I’ll read the ones mentioned in this post for years, but I’m going to make 2021 be the year I actually read them!

1. The Lord of the Rings Series by J.R.R. Tolkien
I know, I know. I’m ashamed I’ve lived 28 years and have yet to read The Lord of the Rings. The movies are masterful, and I collect just about anything LotR I can get my hands on, so it’s about damn time I get around to actually reading the source material.
2. Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas
I have started this series twice now, and for some reason the farthest I can make it is Crown of Midnight. It’s not that I don’t like them, I actually enjoyed the first two. I have no follow-through with book series. After rereading A Court of Thorns and Roses for the release of A Court of Silver Flames, I just need to finish Maas’ other series.
3. Shades of Magic Series by V.E. Schwab
Don’t even get me started on how disappointing it is that I haven’t read this series yet. I’ve loved both Schwab books I’ve read so far β Vicious and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue β so I must be absolutely bonkers for not picking these up yet.
4. Grishaverse Books by Leigh Bardugo
With the release of the Netflix show coming in April, I need to finally get around to reading these. Once I watch the adaptation, I won’t want to pick them up, so I have some weeks to finally get caught up!
5. Red Rising Saga by Pierce Brown
I read Red Rising almost 2 years ago, and did I continue on to Golden Son? Of course I didn’t. Why? Because I have terrible series follow-through. I truly hate myself for it, and it’s a goal for 2021 to break that annoying habit.

And that’s all five! Let me know in the comments the book series that you most want to finish this year.
Until next time,
