Hello, everyone.
Yes, you read that correctly – I’m publishing a blog post.
It has been a year to say the least. I changed jobs, I got out of touch with reading, I learned so much about myself and what I want out of life, I I got back into reading, and I decided to blog again. I wanted to start this new year out with a reintroduction of sorts because I definitely don’t feel like the same person I was when I first started blogging. My reading tastes have changed – my mind has changed in general. (No one really tells you how much you mature/evolve in your late 20s.)
I did a little googling and found an older “Meet the Book Blogger” tag and thought it’d be a fun way to jump back into blogging! Make sure to check out Lala, the tag’s creator, over at Lala’s Book Reviews!

Introduction
- Introduce yourself!
Hello! My name is Katie, and I’m a 28 (practically 29) year old Capricorn. I’m ruthlessly sarcastic, slightly controlling, and immensely dedicated.
2. Do you have any pets?
I have a Great Pyrenees named Mika! She turned a year old in July, and I love her to pieces.

3. What is your favorite thing to drink?
I should say water because I definitely need to drink more of it than I do, but I’ve got to say some kind of juice – orange, apple, grape, etc. I also really love the strawberry açaí refresher from Starbucks, it’s kind of an addiction.
4. What is your favorite season?
I’m a cold weather fiend, so give me endless autumn and winter days.
5. Do you have any special talents?
Honestly, not really. I am pretty good at quick, witty remarks – does that count?
Blogging
6. When and why did you start your blog?
I technically started Lost in Pages back in 2019. I posted pretty regularly for almost 2 years, and then I took a bit of a hiatus this past year. I lost a lot of motivation to read and blog, so I found myself drifting away from the website. Thankfully my new-ish job gives me ample time to listen to audiobooks, so I’ve gotten back into my love of books.
7. What is something that you wish you knew about blogging before you started?
I wish I’d known that I didn’t have to restrict my content. I thought if I started out blogging about books, books could be the only thing. I do wish to branch out more with different posts this year.
8. What has been the hardest part about blogging?
Maintaining content. I find it really hard to stick with goals I set for myself, so I’m trying this year to be better at consistency.
9. What has been the most rewarding part of blogging?
Meeting and talking with so many cool people on the internet! I love having book friends, whether they’re in real life or virtual.
10. Do you write your posts ahead of time or write them the day of posting?
I’m a planner, so these bad boys get scheduled (fingers crossed) days in advance.
Reading
11. Who are your top five favorite authors?
At the moment, I’d say V.E. Schwab, Ruth Ware, Riley Sager, Patrick Rothfuss, and Sally Rooney.
12. What genre do you read the most?
I read a good majority of mystery/thrillers and fantasy!
13. What genre surprised you by how much you love it?
Mystery/thrillers for sure. I really didn’t think I could get into some, but there have been a few that ended up being all-time favorites.
14. What popular book didn’t live up to the hype for you?
I know YA readers were obsessed with Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, but I really did not like that story. And recently I read a romance favorite, The Hating Game, and that was a big letdown for me.
15. Who are some popular authors you haven’t read?
Stephen King, which I definitely want to change in 2022. I also would like to read some Naomi Novik, Brandon Sanderson, and Robin Hobb.
16. What upcoming release are you excited to read?
For mystery/thrillers, I’m always excited for whatever new release Ruth Ware and Riley Sager have for the year, and I’m also interested in Lucy Foley’s new release, The Paris Apartment. For fantasy, I’m stoked for Holly Black’s first dive into adult books. My most anticipated has got to be Gallant by V.E. Schwab though.
17. Do you listen to music while reading?
If I do, it’s instrumental. Most of the time I just put on white noise or rain/nature sounds.
18. Where else online can we find you?
Instagram | Twitter | Goodreads

And that’s the tag, folks! I tag anyone who’s feeling up to sharing a bit about themselves or anyone who’s looking to introduce themselves to the blogging world.
I hope to see you all more regularly this year!
Until next time,
Welcome back.
Glad you have found a new love for reading/audiobooks.
I also took a hiatus this year. I havent been very consistent with posting for awhile but this year I am planning on changing that. After some website updates.
